Top Ten Things I Will Miss About the Old Neighborhood

Now that we have sold our other house (as of 7/20/07). I can finally post a little about the process and things I will and will not miss about the old neighborhood.

10. Street Cleaning. On the third Thursday of every month from 8A to 12P the township cleans the streets. No Parking or you get a $10 ticket.

9. Helen calling on street cleaning days to warn us about moving our cars.

8. Mike.

7. The rumbling of our whole house as the 18 wheelers as they pass down our bumpy street.

6. The rumbling of our windows as the various noise makers (Cars with loud exhaust, cars with loud stereo’s, Harley’s) roll down the street.

5. Helen calling when both Abi and I were home from work during the week to ask if everything is OK.

4. The sound of gunfire at night being echoed from city. (Replaced by the sound of gunfire from the farmer shooting groundhogs during the day.)

3. Fireworks from the York Revolution games.

2. Window Air Conditioning units.

1. The sound of the PA State Police doing a drug raid across the street at 11:30 PM on s Wednesday night.

York Revolutions… I’m guessing, baseball? If so, Lancaster’s team still has the dumbest name for a team, but this is a close second.

The whole Atlantic League is dumb (and a bunch of other negative adjectives). As a Lancaster resident, I am subjected to the Fraudstormers postgame fireworks whenever they feel the need.

I wish that league would fold.
